Permanent Hair Removal Methods

Permanent Hair Removal Methods

Permanent Hair Removal Methods

There are many hair removal techniques but not many are permanent hair removal methods. What permanent means to some people are different then others of course and as an example using a permanent magic marker doesn’t mean it will never go away although on some materials like my children’s cloths it dose seem to stay forever.

I know when I was searching for weeks to find a real permanent hair removal methods I came across allot of products that said they were permanent but after some research and contacting real people that bought and used them I found out that they were not. Actually most of the hair removal creams on the market are what’s called Depilatories, which means they use a chemical to remove the hair.

How this work is by applying the hair removal cream or gel to an area like your legs and then a chemical reaction burns the hair off leave the rest of the hair below the skin to grow back out again. Now what I found interesting here was that the company advertised the product as being a proven permanent hair removal methods. Of course I contact them directly and asked how they can call it permanent and they said “the hair itself that is removed is permanently gone”. What the… What kind of misleading marketing was that?

So I have take the liberty myself to let you know what permanent hair removal methods there are and which ones are not.

Non Permanent Hair Removal Methods

  • Depilatories – Chemically remove hair above the surface of the skin. These usually come as a spray, Gel or cream form.
  • Razors – Straight forward here…it cuts the hair off so it can still grow back. I should have asked the customer service rep if using a razor was permanent because the hair that was cut off can’t grow back. Unbelievable!
  • Tweezers – Again straight forward pluck them out and they will still grow back.
  • Friction – This where you rub the hair off at the surface. Usually in the form of a mitt.
  • Waxing – It’s applied and it attaches to the hair. It is then ripped off very fast taking hair with it.
  • Sugaring – Similar to waxing as sticky strip is applied to the hair and it’s ripped away.
  • Rotary epilators – these are electric hand held tool that rotates trapping the hair and pulling it out by the roots.

Permanent Hair Removal Methods List

  • Electrolysis – Has to be done in a clinic by professionals. A needle is injected down the shaft of the hair all the way to the follicle and electric shock is applied killing the follicle. Very painful and expensive. Read more about the types of Electrolysis Removal.
  • Home ElectrolysisThe only painless, safe effective method that uses an electrical pulse that travels through the hair to the follicle killing it and the growth cells around it. This done using an ePen.  See my Verseo ePen Review which is one of the only proven at home Permanent Hair Removal Methods.
  • Laser – Has to be done in a clinic by professionals. The laser is applied to the area of unwanted hair at a determined wavelength targeting and damaging the follicle. Although considered a permanent hair removal methods it has been proven to actually reduce hair growth but no studies conclude that hair is removed forever. Read more one the many risks in this article about Laser Hair Removal In The News.
  • Flash lamp- low-range infrared radiation that are filtered to allow a specified range of wavelengths to attack dark material such as hair and hair follicles. Surprisingly I could find any long term clinical studies to back up the safety or results.

Be sure to check out my personal Verseo ePen Review.

The only real permanent hair removal methods I found during my investigation, in a really quick In summary, is the Home Electrolysis method by Verseo.

Permanent Hair Removal Gel

Permanent Hair Removal Gel

Can a Permanent Hair Removal Gel Work?

Most people refer to Permanent Hair Removal Gel as something different than hair removal cream, but it’s very much the same thing. The cream or gel is applied to the area with the unwanted hair and is left for a period and then rubbed off. This method is called a chemical depilatory, which means it uses a chemical to burn the hair off at the skin level. This method is NOT permanent and often has to be repeated every few days.

The chemical is an active ingredient commonly known as calcium thioglycolate. This chemical breaks down the chemical bond of the hairs keratin and the hair so that it can easily be scraped off. So when people refer to a Permanent Hair Removal Gel they are looking for a paste to rub on the unwanted hair.

In a little more detail the outer layer of the skin (epidermis) is rich in keratin, which causes irritation or blotchy, red looking skin as the chemical reaction starts. This can be prevented by not leaving the gel or cream on any one area too long. This type of Permanent Hair Removal Gel is used mainly on larger areas suck as the arms or legs and because there are side effects it should not be used on the face area unless the product specifically states that it can be.

Types Of Permanent Hair Removal Gel

These types of chemical depilatories are available in the form of creams or gels, sprays and I have even seen a roll-on type. The best type of Permanent Hair Removal Gel are not really permanent at all, so don’t be fooled. The only type of chemical depilatory that I have seen work as permanent solution comes as a spray in a package called Ultra Hair Away. Why I call it the best is because this type of hair removal is permanent over time.

The way it works is it will progressively and naturally stop unwanted hair growth by using there patented “enzyme technology”. After continual application the hair follicle is reduced to a small fine hair and that will eventually fall out because the dermal papilla has be slowly killed off. Without the dermal papilla hair CANNOT grow.

Would I use a Permanent Hair Removal Gel?

I personally would never recommend a Permanent Hair Removal Gel but some people are stuck on using it but to me the method has too many drawbacks. A safer and quicker method is using an electrolysis hair removal kit that can be done right at home. To see more information see our Verseo ePen Review.

I know people use a permanent hair removal gel because it’s quick and easy but in the long run it will not only take more time but it will cost more money

Permanent Hair Removal Cream

Permanent Hair Removal Cream

A Permanent Hair Removal Cream

Everyone wants to know what the best permanent hair removal cream is and the answer isn’t that easy because requirement may be different depending on which unwanted hair needs to be removed. This means results may vary from person to person. The simple answer always depends on what area of the body your trying to remove hair from.

What I mean is if you want to remove hair from the genitalia you won’t want to use the traditional Electrolysis removal method as this is VERY painful. Ouch! I don’t think you want electric shocks shooting through your sensitive private areas do you? “No” didn’t think so. So in your case a  permanent hair removal cream is the best.

Fact of the matter is there are not many reliable permanent hair removal creams on the market as most are depilatories which means they use a chemical to burn the hair off which doesn’t kill the follicle so it isn’t permanent. Also people with darker hair will have a visible shadow of their dark hair under the surface of the skin so this type of treatment will have to be done every two or three days.

Because the depilatories are made with chemicals they can cause skin irritation and sting in open cuts or soars and don’t get any in your eyes.

Dermal Papilla

The Best Hair Permanent Hair Removal Cream

The best permanent hair removal cream that I have used is called Ultra Hair Away. It takes time because it works by slowly killing the dermal papilla which feeds the hair follicle. Bodybuilders use it and as a matter of fact it was a friend of mine who bodybuilds for a living that introduced me to it. It does work without a doubt but it is a bit expensive, at least I found it was.

It was about a year later when I seen a product called the Verseo ePen on TV that caught my attention. It is safe, quick and painless and I was thinking this is the product for me. Read my Verseo ePen Review.

If you are going to chose a permanent hair removal cream then Ultra Hair Away is your only choice because it is the best on the market today.
